Swimming with Manatees in Crystal River, Florida
Swimming with Manatees in Crystal River Florida is one of the coolest things we have ever done in our lives. We rented wet suits for $10 and then launched our kayaks at Hunter Springs Park. Before we even put our kayaks in the water we were swimming with manatees. After a quick swim, we kayaked through Kings bay and over to Three Sisters Springs. There were soo many manatees at Three Sister Spring, it was truly magical. Swimming with manatees is one of the top things to do in Florida without a doubt.
Is it dangerous kayaking in water with alligators?
We kayaked in the Wekiva River at Kings Landing located in Central Florida to find out!
By recommendation of one of our friends through a Facebook article tag on Kings Landing, we found out about kayaking in the Wekiva River at Kings Landing. Thanks, Kev! We quickly added this to our plan while exploring Florida and we were NOT disappointed!
Floating down the river in our kayaks, spotting alligators within feet of us, and soaking in the beauty of central Florida was absolutely thrilling! Kings Landing is a kayak outfitter where you can rent floats, see-through kayaks, or launch your own like we did. We paid $20 each to launch our boats at their kayak launch. Next, we floated the 8.5 miles down the scenic river. As an extra bonus, the shuttle stop where we met to be transported back to our vehicle, was right next to a bar. Check out our adventures as we encountered alligators in the wild, had a couple of hilarious kayak mishaps and created memories to last a lifetime!
Kayaking with Florida manatees at Weeki Wachee State Park
Kayaking the crystal clear waters of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Florida was a beautiful adventure. At Hospital Hole, some curious Florida manatees approached our kayaks for some scratches and belly rubs
